It is not a great moment for cheeses from Trentino. After the affair of the little girl from Cortina d'Ampezzo, hospitalised for haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) after consuming a product from a dairy in the Fiemme Valley that was contaminated with Escherichia Coli, another cheese has been recalled. It concerns several batches of Puzzone di Moena. Analyses carried out found the presence of the same bacterium in it.

The Ministry of Health has reported the precautionary recall by the operator of a batch of stracchino... The reason given in the recall notice is the possible presence of Escherichia coli STEC, found by the manufacturer in a batch of formaggella produced at the same time as the stracchino ( cheese ) in question.
